Baseball Glove for an 11-Year-Old: 7 Youth Gloves Checked (2026)

Baseball glove for an 11-year-old: what makers say about size and seven youth gloves, checked October 10, 2026
⚡ Quick Answer

There is no single glove size for an 11-year-old, and makers disagree. Rawlings lists one youth band for ages 7 to 12, infield 10.25 to 11.5 inches, while Wilson splits ages 11 to 12 at 11 to 11.75 inches for infield. We list seven youth gloves from 11 to 12 inches, priced from $19.99 to $149.99 on October 10, 2026. We haven’t tested any glove, so we report what the makers and listings state.

Parents searching for a baseball glove for an 11-year-old find age charts that disagree with each other and rarely name a source. We read the makers’ own size guides and product pages instead, and we’ve put them side by side.

This guide covers what Rawlings, Easton, Wilson and Mizuno say about age and size, the age labels printed on the gloves themselves, and seven youth gloves with the throwing hand, size and price checked. For other ages, see our 12-year-old glove guide and 9-year-old glove guide.

Key takeaways
  • →Rawlings and Easton list one youth band for ages 7 to 12, and Wilson splits ages 8 to 10 from 11 to 12. Mizuno’s pages we opened give no age guidance.
  • →Easton’s 11 inch Future Elite is the only glove we found that its maker labels for 11U players.
  • →Some 11.5 inch gloves are labelled for younger children. Rawlings lists its Sure Catch for 10U and under, and Amazon lists a Rawlings Players Series glove as perfect for ages 3 to 7.
  • →We found no primary source that defines 11U. Little League uses a league age, based on a player’s age on August 31.
  • →Louisville Slugger’s size chart page returned an access error on most attempts and we found no glove age chart there, Franklin’s site returned access errors, and Marucci’s site returned no readable product page, so those makers appear here only through Amazon listing text.

Baseball glove for an 11-year-old: what makers say about size

Rawlings and EastonYouth ages 7 to 12: infield 10.25 to 11.5 in, outfield 11.5 to 12.25 in, first base 11.5 to 12 in. Easton’s site shows the same table.
WilsonYouth ages 11 to 12: infield 11 to 11.75 in, outfield 11.75 to 12.5 in, pitcher 11.5 to 12.5 in, utility 12 in.
MizunoNo size or age guide on the product pages we opened.
Louisville Slugger, Franklin, MarucciNot readable: access errors or no readable product page. No glove age chart found.
Sources: Rawlings’ and Easton’s sizing pages and Wilson’s How to Choose a Glove page, October 10, 2026. Rawlings calls its table a general guide for determining which glove size an athlete needs.

Notice how different the groupings are. Rawlings and Easton have one youth band that covers an 11-year-old and a 7-year-old alike, so there is no separate row for age 11. See Rawlings’ chart and Easton’s copy. Wilson separates ages 8 to 10 from 11 to 12, which is the only breakdown we found that targets this age, on its guide page.

We don’t offer an age to inch chart of our own. Third-party charts we saw disagree with one another and with the makers, and none cites a maker.

Fit tests from Wilson

Wilson’s guide says the most important factors when choosing a glove are position and fit, and that a glove that is too large will feel heavy and awkward. For younger players, it says, a smaller glove offers more control. Its two simple tests: if the glove would slide off the hand with the arm down by the player’s side, the glove or at least the hand opening is too large. And if a player can easily squeeze the glove closed, they should be able to use it, while a player who struggles should try a smaller glove.

Position changes the number as much as age

Wilson’s chart gives a different range for each position at ages 11 to 12: infield 11 to 11.75 inches, pitcher 11.5 to 12.5, outfield 11.75 to 12.5 and utility 12. Rawlings’ youth chart for ages 7 to 12 adds a first base range of 11.5 to 12 inches. Putting the two charts side by side shows where common glove lengths land, by our reading and counting the end numbers as inside each range.

Glove lengthRawlings, ages 7 to 12Wilson, ages 11 to 12

11.5 inInfield, outfield, first baseInfield, pitcher
12 inOutfield, first basePitcher, outfield, utility
Our comparison of Rawlings’ and Wilson’s published ranges, October 10, 2026. Both makers call their charts guides, and neither says which length suits a particular child.

So a 12 inch glove is above both makers’ infield ranges, and an 11 inch glove is below both makers’ outfield ranges. That is arithmetic on two charts, not advice about any child’s hand, and it is why the position your child plays should be settled before the inch number.

What 11U and league age mean

Several gloves carry age labels such as 11U or 12U. We found no primary source that defines 11U. Little League, for its part, says the age determination date for a player is the child’s actual age on August 31 of the current year, and its Major division is open to league ages 9 to 12, which a local league can restrict. See Little League’s page. Check your own league’s age chart before relying on a label.

The seven gloves

1. Easton Future Elite 11 inch: the one labelled for 11U

Easton Future Elite 11 inch I-Web youth baseball glove
The Easton Future Elite 11 inch (Amazon product photo).

Easton’s Future Elite page says the glove was built specifically for 11U youth players who are focused on their defense. It lists an 11 inch size, youth level, an I-Web, a narrow fit and an adjustable open back, in right and left throw. The shell is oil-tanned cowhide, and the page gives a Player Break-In figure of 30, without a unit. It says the Flex Notch closure system makes the glove easy to use. The right hand red and white version was $40.13 on Amazon on October 10, and the left hand navy and orange version was $62.98. Other colors of the same glove ranged from $34.20 to $69.41.

2. Rawlings Select Pro Lite 11.5 inch: a youth fit with a smaller hand opening

The Rawlings Select Pro Lite 11.5 inch (Amazon product photo).

Rawlings’ Select Pro Lite page lists a Youth Pro Taper fit, a Pro I web, an age group of 12U, 10U and 8U, and a Player Break-In of 10. Amazon’s listing describes a smaller hand opening and lowered, narrower finger stalls, and says it arrives approximately 90 percent broken in. Rawlings’ own page showed it out of stock on October 10, while Amazon had it. The right hand throw version was $74.99, and the left hand throw Kris Bryant version was $72.99.

3. Rawlings R9 ContoUR youth 11.5 inch: the premium option

Rawlings R9 ContoUR youth 11.5 inch baseball glove
The Rawlings R9 ContoUR youth 11.5 inch (Amazon product photo).

Rawlings’ R9 page lists an 11.5 inch glove with a Modified Trap-Eze web, an age group of 14U, 12U, 10U and 8U, a Player Break-In of 20 and an all-leather shell, at $149.99. Amazon’s listing says the ContoUR Fit has a narrower wrist opening and lowered finger stalls. The Amazon listing was also $149.99 on October 10, and its title doesn’t state the throwing hand, so confirm it on the listing.

4. Mizuno Prospect Select 11.5 inch: no age guidance from Mizuno

Mizuno Prospect Select 11.5 inch youth baseball glove
The Mizuno Prospect Select 11.5 inch (Amazon product photo).

Mizuno’s Prospect Select page lists a full grain leather shell, a ButterSoft palm liner and an open back at $75.00, in right and left throw, with no age stated. The right hand throw infield version with an H Web was $69.00 on Amazon on October 10. We matched it to Mizuno’s page by size and color, because the model number isn’t in the Amazon title. Mizuno’s Prospect PowerClose is a $50 alternative that Mizuno says makes catching easy for younger players, but Amazon’s size field labels it for ages 9 to 10, and Mizuno states no age.

5. Marucci Caddo V3 11.5 inch: Amazon listing text only

Marucci Caddo V3 11.5 inch I-Web baseball glove
The Marucci Caddo V3 11.5 inch (Amazon product photo).

Marucci’s site returned no readable product page when we checked, so this is the seller’s listing. It describes a full-grain cowhide shell with reinforced, lightweight panels, an EZ Flex notch, and a youth-tapered hand stall that it says provides a better fit and fielding control. The right hand throw version and the left hand throw version were both $69.99 on October 10.

6. Wilson A500 12 inch: Wilson’s own age wording

Wilson A500 12 inch youth baseball glove
The Wilson A500 12 inch (Amazon product photo).

Wilson’s age wording for the A500 varies by page. Its A500 12 inch utility page says players ages 6 and older, while its 2027 A500 12 inch youth utility page says ages 6-10, as do its 11 and 11.5 inch infield pages. We list the 12 inch because it is the size Wilson’s chart gives for utility at ages 11 to 12. Amazon’s listing doesn’t say which model year it is. The 12 inch right hand throw infield version was $69.95 on Amazon on October 10, with Amazon.com as the seller. A 12 inch left hand throw utility version was $55.12. Wilson’s own page calls the 12 inch a utility glove and Amazon titles the right hand version as infield, so check the position on the listing.

7. Franklin Field Master 11 inch: the lowest-priced here

Franklin Sports Field Master 11 inch baseball glove
The Franklin Field Master 11 inch (Amazon product photo).

The Franklin Field Master 11 inch right hand throw was $19.99 on Amazon on October 10, in tan. Its listing describes soft synthetic leather that it says is lightweight and easy and quick to break in, for baseball, softball or teeball, and notes that a right hand throw glove is worn on the left hand. Franklin’s own site returned an access error, so this is listing text only. It is synthetic, not leather.

Gloves to skip for an 11-year-old

Skip the Rawlings Sure Catch. Rawlings lists it for 10U, 8U, 6U and T-ball, and Amazon says it is designed for players ages 10 and under. Skip the Rawlings Players Series 11.5 inch, which Amazon’s listing says is perfect for ages 3 to 7 and made of lightweight vinyl, because an inch number alone doesn’t mean a glove suits an 11-year-old. And skip Wilson’s 11 and 11.5 inch A500 infield gloves unless the child is on the small side, since Wilson’s A500 infield pages say they are for players ages 6 to 10, although Wilson’s chart puts age 11 to 12 infield at 11 to 11.75 inches. Batting gloves are a different product and aren’t covered here.

How we checked this guide

We read Rawlings’ and Easton’s size pages and product pages, Wilson’s guide and product data, Mizuno’s pages, Little League’s league-age page, and Amazon’s product data, all on October 10, 2026. Louisville Slugger’s size chart page returned an access error on most attempts, Franklin’s site returned access errors and Marucci’s site returned no readable product page, so we have only listing text for those. We did not test any glove, so we don’t say how any of them fits or plays. Prices and stock change daily, and third-party sellers appear on some Amazon listings.

Frequently asked questions

What size baseball glove does an 11-year-old need?

Makers give ranges, not one answer. Rawlings and Easton list one youth band for ages 7 to 12: infield 10.25 to 11.5 inches and outfield 11.5 to 12.25 inches. Wilson splits ages 11 to 12: infield 11 to 11.75 inches, outfield 11.75 to 12.5 inches and utility 12 inches. Mizuno’s pages we opened give no age guidance.

What does 11U mean on a glove?

We found no primary source that defines it. Easton says its 11 inch Future Elite is built specifically for 11U youth players, and Rawlings uses 12U, 10U and 8U labels. Little League uses a league age, based on a child’s age on August 31, so check your own league’s age chart.

Is an 11.5 inch glove too big for an 11-year-old?

Not by the maker charts. 11.5 inches is inside the Rawlings youth infield (10.25 to 11.5) and outfield (11.5 to 12.25) ranges and inside Wilson’s age 11 to 12 infield (11 to 11.75) and pitcher (11.5 to 12.5) ranges, but below Wilson’s age 11 to 12 outfield range (11.75 to 12.5). Fit depends on the child’s hand, so use a maker’s fit tests, such as Wilson’s, and don’t rely on an inch number alone.

How do I know if a glove fits?

Wilson’s guide says that if a glove would slide off the hand with the arm down by the side, the glove or at least the hand opening is too large, and that a player who can easily squeeze the glove closed should be able to use it. If a player struggles to close it, Wilson says to try a smaller glove.

Are Rawlings Sure Catch gloves right for an 11-year-old?

Rawlings lists the Sure Catch with an age group of 10U, 8U, 6U and T-ball, and Amazon’s listing says it is designed for players ages 10 and under, so we don’t list it as a pick.

Do youth gloves need breaking in?

Makers vary. Rawlings lists a Player Break-In figure of 10 for the Select Pro Lite and 20 for the R9 ContoUR, without a unit, and Wilson says its youth gloves are made with game-ready materials, meaning little to no break-in. We found no break-in time we can quote for the others.

Is a cheap synthetic glove OK?

The Franklin Field Master listing describes soft synthetic leather that it says is easy and quick to break in. It was $19.99 on October 10. That is the seller’s description, and we haven’t tested it.

Which hand does a baseball glove go on?

A right hand throw glove goes on the left hand, and a left hand throw glove on the right. Check the hand on each listing, because some Amazon titles don’t state it.
