Budget Baseball Glove for Adults: 6 Gloves Under $100 (2026)

A budget baseball glove for an adult costs about $28 for a synthetic Franklin Field Master, about $38 for a Franklin RTP Pro pigskin glove, $38 to $53 for a Rawlings Sure Catch Adult by size and hand, $72 for a Rawlings Player Preferred, and $70 to $95 for a Rawlings Sandlot or Mizuno Franchise. These are Amazon prices on October 10, 2026. We haven’t tested any glove, so we report what makers and listings state.
Search for a budget baseball glove for adults and you’ll find one roundup we read that gives glove lifespans, such as one season for a synthetic glove, without naming a source. This guide covers fielding gloves only, with six that cost under $100, the leather each maker or listing names, the sizes by position from Rawlings’ chart, and the throwing hand wherever the Amazon title states it.
For a bigger hand, see our big hands glove guide. For general adult picks, see our adult baseball gloves guide and adult glove size guide.
- →The cheapest option here, the Franklin Field Master 12 inch, is $27.99 on Amazon and its listing says synthetic leather.
- →Gloves with a leather spec on a maker page start higher: Rawlings’ Player Preferred is $72.24 on rawlings.com, the Sandlot $84.99 and the Mizuno Franchise $90.00. The pigskin and all-leather Franklin and Sure Catch gloves ($37.59 to $52.99) are named as leather by Amazon listings only.
- →Rawlings’ chart for ages 12 and up: infield 11.25 to 12 inches, outfield 12 to 12.75 inches, first base 12 to 13 inches.
- →The Rawlings Sure Catch Adult has no adult baseball page on rawlings.com that we found, so its facts are Amazon listing text.
- →No maker page we read gives a lifespan for any glove, so this guide gives none.

What we counted as a budget adult glove
We kept the price under $100 on Amazon, and we kept baseball fielding gloves only. Batting gloves are a different product, and Rawlings lists its 12.5 inch Renegade as a softball glove, so neither is here. Amazon titles Wilson’s A500 as a youth glove, and the A900 PF115 listing text calls it a youth glove. Wilson’s own pages returned a rate-limit error, so we make no adult or youth call on other Wilson gloves, including the A700. Prices come from Amazon’s product data on October 10, 2026 and move daily. Where Amazon shows a cheaper resale offer, we use the price from Amazon.com itself.

Adult baseball glove sizes by position
Rawlings’ chart on its sizing page calls itself a general guide. For ages 12 and up, it lists the ranges below.
The 12 inch size sits in both the infield and outfield ranges. Rawlings’ adult slowpitch chart runs bigger, 12 to 13 inches for infield and 12.5 to 14 inches for outfield, so a 14 inch glove is a softball size by that chart. We found no size chart on the Mizuno Franchise page, and Franklin’s and Wilson’s pages did not load.
Six budget baseball gloves compared
The six gloves
1. Franklin Field Master 12 inch: the lowest price, and synthetic

Franklin’s Amazon listing says the glove has a soft synthetic leather material that is lightweight and responsive and quick to break in, and that it is made for baseball, softball or tee ball. It also mentions thumb adjustment and a contoured wrist area. Franklin’s own page returned an access error, so this is listing text only. The right hand throw 12 inch was $27.99 on October 10, 2026. The black and gold version is titled “Adult and Youth Glove” on the right hand throw listing at $27.99 and the left hand throw listing at $29.99. The tan listing’s title doesn’t say adult.
2. Franklin RTP Pro 12.5 inch: pigskin at a low price

The 12.5 inch RTP Pro was $37.99 on October 10, 2026. Franklin’s listing says it is made of pigskin leather and calls the material flexible and easy to shape, and the listing lists a Basket Web. A 12 inch version, whose Amazon size field says Modified Trap Web, was $49.99. The titles don’t state the throwing hand and the listing doesn’t say adult, so check the hand on the listing. The 12.5 inch size is inside Rawlings’ adult outfield range.
3. Rawlings Sure Catch Adult: all-leather shell, per Amazon

Amazon’s listing says the glove is designed for adult rec baseball and slowpitch softball, with an all-leather shell, a heel cutout design and 90 percent factory break-in. Rawlings’ Sure Catch series page that we opened lists only models in its Youth Gloves menu, none adult, so we found no maker page for this adult glove and the claims here are the seller’s wording. The 12 inch right hand throw was $52.99 on October 10, 2026, the 12.5 inch left hand throw was $37.59, and the 13 inch right hand throw was $52.99. Rawlings’ adult first base range runs to 13 inches. Amazon prices move daily, which is why we date every price.
4. Rawlings Player Preferred 12.5 inch: leather at $72.24

Rawlings’ Player Preferred 12.5 inch page lists Level: Adult, Age Group: Adult Recreational, a quality full-grain leather shell, a Zero Shock palm pad, a Velcro strap back, a Basket web and a Player Break-In figure of 20, at $72.24. Rawlings describes the series as designed for recreational players of various ages and skill levels, with full-grain oiled leather shells and all-leather laces. The right hand throw listing has a Pro H web and was $72.24 on October 10, 2026, and the left hand throw Basket listing was also $72.24.
5. Rawlings Sandlot: 11.75, 12 or 12.75 inch

Rawlings’ Sandlot 12 inch page lists Level: Adult and an Age Group of High School, 14U, 12U and 10U, full-grain oiled shell leather, Zero Shock palm pads, a Basket web, a Player Break-In figure of 20 and a price of $84.99. The 11.75 and 12.75 inch pages list the same shell and break-in figure. Rawlings describes the series as oiled pull-up leather with minimal break-in required. On October 10, 2026 Amazon had the 11.75 inch right hand throw at $70.00, the 12 inch right hand throw at $79.47 and the 12.75 inch right hand throw at $84.95. The 11.75 inch is inside Rawlings’ adult infield range and the 12.75 inch is the top of its outfield range.
6. Mizuno Franchise 11.5, 12 or 12.5 inch: the highest price here

Mizuno’s Franchise 11.5 inch page lists $90.00, a full grain leather shell with laced binding, a ParaShock palm pad, MZO lining and HiLo lacing, and says the line sets the standard for a well-performing glove at an affordable price. The page doesn’t say adult or youth, and gives no break-in time. On October 10, 2026 Amazon had the 11.5 inch infield at $95.00, the 12 inch pitcher model at $89.99 and the 12.5 inch utility model at $90.00. The Amazon titles don’t state the throwing hand.
Synthetic or leather: what the pages say
The only synthetic glove here is the Franklin Field Master, and Franklin’s Amazon listing says its synthetic leather is made to mimic the performance and durability of a true leather mitt without the long break-in period. That is Franklin’s wording, not a test. Rawlings and Mizuno name full-grain leather shells on their own pages, and the RTP Pro and Sure Catch listings name pigskin and all-leather shells. No page we read gives a lifespan for any of these materials, so we don’t say a synthetic glove lasts one season or a leather glove lasts two. The one roundup we read that gives such figures doesn’t source them.
Breaking in a new glove
Rawlings’ break-in page gives four steps: work the padding, soften the leather with a light coating of its Glovolium oil without saturating the glove, form the pocket with a baseball held in with rubber bands for a day or so, and play catch. It does not recommend steaming, boiling, baking or heating a glove, or using petroleum jelly, and says those methods can damage the glove and affect the warranty.
Rawlings’ product pages list a Player Break-In figure of 20 for the Sandlot and Player Preferred, without a unit. Amazon’s listings say the Sandlot is about 80 percent broken in from the factory and the Sure Catch 90 percent. Mizuno’s page lists no break-in number, and Franklin’s page could not be read. For more on the process, see our glove break-in guide.
Returns and warranty
Rawlings’ returns page says it offers free returns within 30 days of receiving an order, if the items are in original condition and packaging. That applies to orders from Rawlings. Its warranty page lists a one year warranty on fielding gloves, and says it covers products bought from authorized dealers with the original sales receipt. We didn’t check whether Amazon.com counts as an authorized dealer, or read Amazon’s, Franklin’s or Mizuno’s return terms.
What to skip
Skip batting gloves, which are a different product, and skip softball gloves such as the 12.5 inch Rawlings Renegade, which Rawlings lists as softball. The Sure Catch and Player Preferred are listed for baseball and are also sold for slowpitch softball. Skip youth gloves for an adult: Rawlings’ youth chart tops out at 12.25 inches for outfield. And check the throwing hand before you pay, since a right hand throw glove goes on the left hand.

How we checked this guide
We read Rawlings’ sizing, break-in, returns and warranty pages and its pages for the Sandlot and Player Preferred, Mizuno’s Franchise pages, and Amazon’s product data, on October 9 and 10, 2026. Franklin’s pages returned an access error and Wilson’s returned a rate-limit error, so Franklin facts here are Amazon listing text and we make no adult or youth claims about Wilson beyond what Amazon’s titles and listing text say. We did not test any glove, so we don’t say how any of them fits or plays. Prices and stock change daily.
Frequently asked questions
What size baseball glove should an adult buy?
Rawlings’ size chart is by age and position. For ages 12 and up it lists infield 11.25 to 12 inches, outfield 12 to 12.75 inches and first base 12 to 13 inches, and it calls the chart a general guide.
Is a synthetic baseball glove good enough for an adult on a budget?
Franklin’s Amazon listing for the Field Master says the synthetic leather is lightweight and quick to break in. No maker page we could read gives a lifespan for synthetic or leather gloves, so we can’t say how long one lasts.
What does right hand throw mean on a glove?
A right hand throw glove is worn on the left hand, and a left hand throw glove on the right. Check the throwing hand on each listing, because some Franklin and Mizuno titles on Amazon don’t state it.
Can you get a leather baseball glove for under $100?
Yes, on the pages we read. Rawlings lists its Player Preferred 12.5 inch at $72.24 with a full-grain leather shell, and its Sandlot at $84.99 with full-grain oiled shell leather. Mizuno lists the Franchise at $90.00 with a full grain leather shell. Amazon prices for these ranged from $70.00 to $95.00 on October 10, 2026.
How long does a baseball glove take to break in?
Rawlings gives steps, not a time: work the padding, soften the leather with a light coat of its Glovolium oil, shape the pocket with a ball, then play catch. Its product pages list a Player Break-In figure of 20 for the Sandlot and Player Preferred, without a unit.
Can I return a baseball glove that doesn’t fit?
Rawlings’ returns page offers free returns within 30 days of receiving an order, in original condition and packaging, for orders from rawlings.com. We didn’t read Amazon’s, Franklin’s or Mizuno’s return terms, so check the listing for the seller you buy from.
Can I use a softball glove for baseball?
Rawlings lists its Renegade 12.5 inch glove as a softball glove, while its Player Preferred page lists baseball. Sizes also differ: Rawlings’ adult slowpitch chart runs 12 to 13 inches for infield and 12.5 to 14 inches for outfield.
Why is the same glove priced differently on Amazon and the maker’s site?
We can’t say why. On October 10, 2026 the Mizuno Franchise 11.5 inch was $90.00 at Mizuno and $95.00 on Amazon, and the Rawlings Sandlot 12 inch was $84.99 at Rawlings and $79.47 on Amazon.
